IF Update - March 10, 2010 |
I can remember what it was like to be excited about Christmas, can you? For me, I was either so excited that I wanted to go to bed early so morning would come more quickly, or I didn’t want to go to bed at all.
Even though that was many years ago, I still get excited about a number of things. For example, I have been excited about our upcoming AC Leaders’ Conference that will begin next week at the AC Village in Dowling Park, Florida. This event comes along every three years, and I always look forward to it. This year is not any different. I am excited about the program, the worship we will share, but, most of all, the relationships that will be renewed and made. I hope that many of you are planning on being with us. |

World Outreach - March 10, 2010 |
 FROM THE AFRICA/EUROPE AREA DIRECTOR
News and prayer requests from Africa.
The president of our Ghanaian conference, Simon Bissah, has been ill since I visited him last May. Though he has been under medical supervision, he has not responded to the medication. We need to hold him up in prayer as he goes back to the clinic for alternative solutions.
Simeon Nzishura, our leader in Burundi, brings our help to the Advent Christians of Bugabira. We sent $1,000 from the Emergency Relief Fund in response to the following email: |

From Our Coordinator of Stewardship & Tithing - March 10, 2010 |
Extreme Generosity Practiced by Advent Christians
A generous gift was recently given by an Advent Christian couple to buy every pastor in our denomination a copy of “The Chief Steward” by Richard A. Borg! Their vision of providing a practical resource for pastors is the kind of extraordinary generosity that can be an inspiration to our entire AC family.
Richard Borg tells the story of looking in a huge Christian bookstore for books on preaching. “To my amazement, I found three four-foot long shelves fully stocked with a total of twenty-six titles on the subject of preaching. Eagerly I went through the tables of content and indexes, looking for any words associated with financial stewardship. To my great disappointment, I could not find a single mention of money or how to preach this sensitive subject.” |

News From Around Our Churches - March 10, 2010 |
 PHILIPPINES
It was another early Saturday morning at Iponan with Demver, the student that goes with us to the baseball field to observe what we (meaning our family) do and teach the kids about Christ.
We got the teams situated and then began the game at 8:40 a.m. after the warm-ups. We played three innings, and then Demver told his Bible lesson.
To my parents he passed out two ribbons that bore this inscription:
“Your labor in the LORD is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
And to the kids and us three boys he passed out smaller ribbons bearing the following:

Harbinger Bible Conference 2010 Rally Dates
Come experience Christ with us!
Located in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, this camp was founded as a faith-work in the early 1970s. It was created as a place where other Christians could come to rest and spend time with the Lord with no concern about the cost, and the camp still operates with that same faith.
Contact us to come to a weekend rally and stay in one of our guestrooms, bring a trailer or camp in a tent. Once you experience the love and fellowship at Harbinger we know that you will want to keep coming back again and again.
Spring Rally, May 20 – 23
Speaker – Rev. Earl “Pete” Waterman, Nova Scotia
Summer Rally, July 22 – 25
Speaker – Rev. Lou Going, Whitefield, N.H.
Fall Rally, September 23 – 26
Speaker – Rev. Gary Williams, Milford, N.H.
Make your reservations early. Space is limited.
